RJ Julia’s 35th Anniversary
“Our iconic bookstore in Madison, Connecticut, has reached the milestone of 35 Years of bookselling. We are honored to have the community support over these many years and wanted to tell our story of how it all started.”
Zoey wanted to capture the magic and story of RJ Julia Booksellers. Although only working full-time for two months at this point, she took on the task of creating this small documentary & video by herself. Everything from filming, coordinating, editing, compiling photos, and more was done by Zoey.
During their 35th Anniversary celebration, Madison Cinema gave the honor of premiering the video on the ‘big screen’.
“In case you missed this on our social media channels, enjoy this fabulous retrospective video created by Zoey, our uber-talented social media maven.” - Roxanne J Coady, Founder of RJ Julia Booksellers
Black Cinema & TV Final Project
This project was for one of Zoey’s final senior seminars. After picking her topic of discussing racism within the genre of fantasy, she honed in on one of her own favorite directors, something that is hard to perceive, but important to recognize.
This video was a deep dive into Tim Burton’s creative direction, the genre as a whole, and why representation matters, especially in a genre where anyone can be anything.
This project included a multi-modal website, and through Zoey’s work on this project, she was the Recipient of the Scholarly Writing and Achievement Award from Quinnipiac University’s School of Communications.

Waiting for Beckett Short Film
“Waiting for Beckett follows a teen boy, Danny, in the waiting room of a hospital after his brother, the titular character, Beckett, has been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. In the room with him are his homophobic and desperate father and Beckett’s outspoken yet secret boyfriend. Tensions arise while the three are trapped in the waiting room, awaiting a chance to visit Beckett. It’s raw, gripping, and heartbreaking, but all about family and the idea of coming together in a time where everything seems to be in shambles.”

Podcast Work
Work from Zoey’s podcast that she co-hosts “The Podcast of the Peaceful Army”
Zoey started this podcast with her friend Lindsay. In a time when fan culture has become more prevalent online, they thought it was the perfect opportunity to jump into the game. They created “The Podcast of the Peaceful Army” as they were both fans of the growing rock band Greta Van Fleet.
The episodes were filmed using the Stream Yard platform and uploaded to YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. Every two weeks, the two would upload the videos to YouTube and then pull clips from the episode to post to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
Through their 22-episode run, they are nearly at 400 subscribers on YouTube, 1,000 followers on Instagram, and over 2,000 followers on TikTok. Their community is engaged and excited about the content, and both creators learned the importance of connecting with niche interests and communities.
Zoey edited every episode both for audio and video, hosted the RSS Stream through Spotify for Podcasters, and clipped all content to be put onto other social media platforms.
